one twenty one.

Today was sufficiently less book-filled than days prior.

I made a video in which I vlog like Romeo, of "and Juliet" fame.

I used that joke on three separate occasions today. I just think I'm so clever. Speaking of reveling-in-my-own-cleverness, I started editing my NaNo novel from last November, and god damn it's like... GOOD. (As in, I have some pretty good theme/symbolism going on!) I feel like with a LOT of polishing, including a LOT of outside help, it could actually be a somewhat decent novel! Not publishable... not until a few years being cut up into tiny pieces and reassembled into something awesome, at least.

There's a quote from Vonnegut's Timequake I feel would work well right about now, but I can't find it... ugh. This is disappointing. IT WAS SO WELL WORDED AND WOULD WORK SO NICELY AND IT'S NOT ON THE INTERNET. Uggggggh.

Oh. Found it.

How the hell did I do that?

Oh Vonnegut. You make me so happy.

I should not be awake right now. I'm going out with Darci all day tomorrow. But I have to finish this journalism thing and just... sort of don't want to. :P So here I am, blogging. And the thing is, I'm actually tired. Sigh. And I keep effing playing Dynomite. Uggggggh.

In other news. I get my braces off on Monday. SO MUCH ECSTASY! (:

nanowrimo: six months and counting.

I wasn't going to blog today.

Two reasons:
1) To spite Eevee, and
2) I didn't want to feel like I needed to.

And no, I don't feel like I need to, but I just wanted to post stuff here about NaNoWriMo in November. I feel that since it's exactly 6 months away, I can start plotting* away, and you all can follow along this epic journey with me!

What I came up with today:

basic plot:
The documenting of the Moon Colony, occupied by Earthlings, set in 2059, as it is invaded by a different species of aliens. The aliens are using the radio frequencies to manipulate the fears of the people and influence, however indirectly, their actions. (Most of this is fairly subject to change.)

The story is paralleled by a Space Mission from 2030, twenty nine years prior, as remembered by the main character: Carl Kariuki the janitor custodian from Kenya.

Also included:
various flashbacks from the age of the dinosaurs
random anecdotes in which unicorns and dragons rule the Earth
early colonization "facts" about the moon.

It'll be written as though it's a nonfiction book, except for when Carl is narrating. I'm pretty excited about it. Let me know what you think.

*puns are fun.

living with near-alcoholics.

my mom's drunk.
I hate it when she's drunk because she tries to read things and is all "I don't have my glasses," and I'm like "whatever mom. go to bed."
and she doesn't. and tries to read things anyway. and then whines at money. and tries to use big words. and calls me "awesome" and talks about college. and tries to give me life lessons. ghwoieugiheor my life.

nanowrimo:
inspiration include Transformers, R.E.M, Ministry of Magic, aliens, dinosaurs, Psych, 3OH!3, Super Mario Galaxy, squidfingers, some poem I wrote a while back, the fact that someone who works for my dad refuses to go to doctors and is convinced that having a chiropractor fix your back is the only way to get rid of a cold, words like ghwoieugiheor and karatetentacles, and the love in my heart.
